Summer time is the perfect time to lay out a picnic blanket, sit outside on the fresh grass and soak in the sun with good company and yummy food!  Here are some parks in and around Toronto where you can enjoy a physically distanced picnic this summer!

Colonel Samuel Smith Park

This park is located on the west end, along a stretch of wooded shoreline between Kipling and Lakeshore Area.  It’s a comfy home for a variety of plants, birds and the city’s first skating rink trail that’s in the shape of a figure 8. The park also has a fenced in dog off-leash area available for commercial dog walkers.  You can also enjoy a wonderful view of the CN Tower from the park!

Withrow Park

This is a 8 hectare park (lots of space for social distancing) that has so much to offer!  Not only is it a great park for picnics but also, it has 2 baseball diamonds, a multipurpose sports field, a volleyball court and  a dog off-leash area!  Pups love is there!

Étienne Brûlé Park

Named after the first French explorer to venture beyond St. Lawrence River into Ontario, Étienne Brûlé Park has amazing views by the water, perfect for picnics!  It’s a historic sight, where the shores along the Humber River and Étienne Brûlé Park were once used as a major trade route for Indigenous Peoples of the area.

Corktown Common

Carved out of what used to be a industrial land in Toronto, Corktown Common is a beautiful park with lots of dips and rises.  It has a great view of the city’s skyline and also home to many birds and a few turtles!

High Park

High Park could be compared to the wonders of New York City’s Central Park, but on a smaller scale!  It’s one of the city’s oldest and largest parks with 400 acres that includes many hiking trails, a museum, a zoo and a adventurous playground.
