Today we had the chance to venture into Santa’s Secret Workshop for a sneak peek at what’s in store for this year’s Toronto Santa Claus Parade!

Behind the doors of the secret workshop lives a world infused with magic that you may think only exists in fairy tales and Christmas movies.  The walls are lined with brightly coloured costumes trimmed in glitter and the workshop is brimming wall-to-wall with enchanting holiday characters posed flawlessly upon their floats.

Preparing for the Toronto Santa Claus Parade doesn’t happen overnight however,  production for this year’s parade began in January, and will continue with last minute touches until the day before the parade to ensure perfection.

This year, the kiddies will be fascinated to see their favourite characters sail passed them including an enormous LOL Surprise Doll, a Lego Pirate, Pokémon and PJ Mask’s Owlette perched among the floats!

Parade goers will also be dazzled by musical elves riding on the 98.1 CHFI float, and our favourite foods also get to ride in the parade this year with one float featuring pizza eating penguins taking selfies and another displaying frolicking hot dogs and bacon strips!

And of course, the parade wouldn’t be complete without an appearance from Santa Claus and his beloved wife Mrs. Claus, who were also both busy in the workshop today!

The parade will kick off with a new route this year at 12:30 in the afternoon at Parliament and Bloor St. and travel west on Bloor St where you can catch Darryl Henry and the CHFI Christmas Elves broadcasting live from our Rogers Building!
