Canadian cutie Lilly Singh is coming to a TV near you!

Earlier this year, Lilly announced that she will officially have her very own late-night comedy show.  Fast-forward to July, Lilly has finally revealed the premiere date for her new show, A Little Late with Lilly Singh – mark your calendars, September 16th!

To reveal the news, Lilly posted a hilarious video titled, ‘I’m Expecting …’  In the video, Lilly tells the camera, “September 16th y’all! OK, I am so excited and nervous at the same time.  I just want to say I’m putting my all into the show.  I’m so grateful to be in this position.  I know what a big deal this is.  I know what a historic deal this is.  Any support you give me for the show will not go wasted.  Make your calendars!

I’ve learned the importance of “work hard, play hard” over the last couple of months. It’s no secret that I enjoy having a relentless work ethic and am obsessed with productivity. I couldn’t change it even if I tried tbh. I’d come home after a long day at work and if I had ten minutes to spare, I’d spend it creating more work for myself. Here’s the thing though. At a point I questioned, “when do you actually get to enjoy the fruits of your labour?” When does it stop? I struggled with this for a long time. I constantly found myself creating dope experiences for people but always being the one in the room who was working and unable to be present. All this to say, I’ve really worked on eliminating the guilt I used to feel if I wasn’t constantly working. How? By working really mf hard and then relaxing and wilding out just as hard. By working smarter, not necessarily harder. And by reminding myself that the journey has to be just as rewarding and exciting as the imaginary destination I’ve mocked up in my head. So work hard my loves. Send those emails, make those calls, train, perfect your skills and secure the bag. And then on a Saturday eat a whole pizza on a unicorn floatie while you watch Netflix mindlessly for hours. Repeat. Enjoy the ride #HustleHarder #RejuvenateHarder

And when Lilly was asked if she has received any advice from other late-night competitors, she says, “I talk to Hasan Minhaj, who had a really good presence on a late-night show [The Daily Show].  I also talked to Jimmy Fallon, obviously.  Jimmy has been so supportive through my whole journey.  He gave me a lot of great advice.”

Following Carson Daly’s announcement about stepping down from the late-night TV scene, back in March, Lilly announced on The Tonight Show that she would have her very own NBC show, hinting that her new show will be similar to her YouTube channel.  Lilly says, “I’m so excited because I truly get to create a show from scratch.  I get to make it inclusive .. and create something I really believe in.”  Watch below.
