Due to the unrelenting mix of snow, ice and rain in Toronto and across the GTA, the Toronto Maple Leafs have cancelled the tailgate at Maple Leaf Square for tonight’s playoff game against the Boston Bruins.

In a statement released this morning, the Leafs said, “Due to dangerous conditions following the ice storm in Toronto this weekend, and with the safety of our fans in mind, the fan tailgate party in Maple Leaf Square for tonight’s playoff game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins has been cancelled.”

The team is also urging anyone with tickets to the game to take public transit as opposed to driving in the unpredictable weather conditions.

Whether or not the space will welcome fans for the second Raptors playoff game against the Wizards on Tuesday and the fourth Leafs game against the Bruins on Thursday has yet to be seen. It will depend on the weather, which will be monitored over the next 24 hours.

We’ll just be here, waiting for spring like…

The Raptors were already forced to cancel its Game 1 party outside the Air Canada Centre on Saturday because of the poor weather, but that didn’t stop the team from breaking the game 1 curse with a 114-106 victory over Washington.

The Bruins have a 2-0 lead over the Leafs headed into tonight’s game.
