It turns out about HALF of us would find ourselves in deep trouble, if we missed just one paycheque.

A new survey by the Canadian Payroll Association finds 48 percent of respondents are living paycheque to paycheque and would have a hard time paying the bills if we missed a single pay day.

A quarter of those polled said they wouldn’t be able to scrounge up two-thousand dollars if an emergency situation happened within the next month.

The poll also found more than one-third of working Canadians feel “overwhelmed” by their level of debt, with 1 in 10 saying they don’t believe they will ever be debt-free.
