One might say that there is no better place to spend Christmas than at home, cozy by the tree with your family…but that would be someone who hasn’t experienced the magic of Christmas on vacation!  Any vacation is special, but a Christmas vacation is the truly magical.  Here are some tips and tricks to taking your Christmas vacation with the kiddies to the next level!  Make it the most epic Christmas!

Santa will always find you…no matter where we are!

Plan ahead as much as you can because the holidays are busy time of year for everyone, especially for traveling. When you share the good news with your kiddies, remind them that Santa will be able to find them no matter where they are!

Come up with a Santa Plan

You’ll need to let Santa know about your new plans. Call the hotel to see how Santa will get in, if they don’t have a chimney ask the hotel to make sure they leave Santa with a special key to your room.  Have your kiddies write a letter to Santa with the hotel address so they’ll feel confident that he will find them.

Bring a night light

If you can find a snow flake or Christmas themed night light, bring it with you on the trip and leave it on when your sweet angels go to sleep on Christmas Eve.  Let them know the glow from their special Christmas light will help Santa find them.

Pack your decorations

Nothing screams Christmas more than decorations.  Get creative and make some homemade decorations with the kids before your trip and bring them to make your suite feel even sweeter!  Light card board decorations are bet for traveling with so they won’t add too much more weight to your luggage and they are less likely to get damaged.  As you create your jolly master pieces together, you’ll start creating family vacation memories before you’ve even left home!  And when you return home, those decorations will always remind you of your family Christmas vacation in paradise! Make sure to call the hotel in advance and tell them of any decoration plans you may have so that Christmas isn’t ruined by a large fee for nailing a wreath on your door. Decorations that can be taped our likely the best!

Don’t forget your stockings

Bringing your stockings will give your kids extra reassurance that Santa will find your suite plus, it will make it feel more like home!

Bring presents to the hotel

Bring small gifts for the kiddies to open on Christmas morning! If the kids have been extra good this year and they’re getting a larger present, like a bike, take a photo of the present at home and bring it framed for them to open with an extra note from Santa saying it was delivered to the house okay!

No matter where you are, it will always be a very Merry Christmas with your family around!  Enjoy the time with each other and make it a Christmas for the books!
