Concert Ticket Prices – Why So High?

Concert ticketsWith the Rolling Stones in town tonight for the first of two shows, the question comes up “why are tickets so expensive”.  A long time practice (but kept quiet) had the artist themselves holding tickets and putting them on secondary sites to make more money and prevent scalpers from reaping all the cash. Kid Rock has publicly said he is holding tickets to make up for the discounted price of tickets during his upcoming tour.

AMC Will Carry The Biggest Music Event of 2012

It’s expected to join Live Aid (1985) and Live 8 (2005) in the ranks of legendary benefit shows. The Concert For Sandy Relief will see some of the biggest names in music take the stage Wednesday night in NYC at Madison Square Garden to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Chris Martin, Alicia Keys, Billy Joel, Paul McCartney, Kaye West, Roger Waters and The Who plus many more will perform.

The Boss talks about the devastation from  Hurricane Sandy.

Rolling Stones 10,000,000 Friends

All four Rolling Stones recently took to their website to thank fans for reaching ten million Facebook friends. It is short and sweet. You can’t see it in this shot but there is a song list taped to Charlies’ drum kit, perhaps the tunes they are rehearsing, getting ready for the BIG tour!! We can only hope!
