Here are answers to some common questions about CHFI and our Programming. If your answer is not found below, scroll to the bottom of this page to e-mail someone directly.
General Questions
Q) Why doesn't the radio station start right away when I click on the "Listen Live" link on www.chfi.com?
A) In order for us to stream our radio station on the website, we need to sell advertising to recover some of the hard costs. This includes selling a commercial that airs while the station stream is "loading" for you to hear. If you would rather skip the commercial, simply hit "skip". If not, the station will start automatically after the commercial.
Q) In the past I was always able to access the "Listen Live" feature. Now however, I am not. Why?
A) There has probably been in a change in your system, and you might not even know it!
Here are a few things to try.
For PC users: Download Windows Media Player again and install it with all the defaults.
For MAC users: Download Flip4Mac and install it with all the defaults.
If you see a blank window appear when clicking on Listen Live, then your system is configured to block all ads from being served; thus you're not able to access the feed. If this is the case please contact us.
Q) Who sings the song "Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World"?
A) The Artist is Israel Kamakawiwo'Ole from Hawaii. His CD is called "Facing Future".
Q) How do I find CHFI on cable?
A) Rogers Cable has moved the radio station from analog cable to digital cable. If you live in the GTA and surrounding areas, you will be able to find CHFI on channel 902.
Loyalty Club/ Prize Pick-up Questions
Q) When are new items added to the Auction Section?
A) All of the time! New items will probably pop up at the start of the work week, on Monday mornings.
Q) I have recently won a contest with 98.1 CHFI. Am I eligible for any other contests?
A) Yes. If you have won an Enter to Win Contest through the CHFI Loyalty Club you CAN win again with no time restrictions! Enjoy. If you have won with the Wiseguys or Ticket Blitz however, you must wait 30 days to play these two specific contests again. If you play and win one of these two specific contests within 30 days of playing, your prize will be forfeited.
Q) I haven't received any points for signing up. Why?
A) The reason for this may be because you haven't entered the code that was provided in the first e-mail your received. You can enter this code and all others under Earn Points and clicking Gift Card Codes. The first Code you'll receive in the e-mail is "welcome".
Q) Am I eligible if my postal code is not in the Rules section?
A) At this point we are tweaking our Rules section. We had a template to work with originally and now we're expanding to compensate for our massive signal. The general consensus is that if you can hear 98.1 CHFI on your radio at home you will be eligible to enter the Loyalty Club, and take part in contests. We at CHFI want to make sure that this promotion is fair to all of our listeners.
Q) How can I collect my prize?
A) Wiseguy Winners (and other contests separate from The CHFI Loyalty Club) may pick up their prizes as of the following day with photo ID at the Rogers Video store at 1 Ted Rogers Way (formerly Jarvis & Bloor). The hours of the store are as follows:
Monday - Thursday 10am - 9pm
Friday & Saturday 10am - 10pm
Sunday Noon - 6pmAny thing won through The CHFI Loyalty Club can be picked up two business days following the date of purchase, unless otherwise stipulated by a CHFI Representative. If you've won an Auction or an Enter to Win you will be contacted by phone or e-mail by the CHFI Promotion Dept. within two full business days following the date of winning.
