Can you believe in a few weeks we will celebrate another Canada Day! Sunday, July 1st we’ll celebrate Canada’s 151st birthday!

There’s nothing like celebrating our home and native land with some butter tarts!

A butter tart is a Canadian classic! The recipe is of Canadian origin, first appearing in the The Women’s Auxiliary of the Royal Victoria Hospital Cookbook.

Mary Ethel MacLeod submitted the original recipe! The cookbook is housed in the Simcoe County archives.

We found a list of the top 10 butter tarts, that you can find in bakeries all over Ontario!

Time for a mini road trip! Check it out!
