A 22-year old woman by the name of Jayde Penton, from Thompson, Man. made a difference in a child’s life by donating her Ed Sheeran concert tickets.

Jayde had a pair of tickets to Ed Sheeran’s show at the Bell MTS Centre.  Prior to the show, she saw a tweet from the Children’s Hospital.  Staff from the hospital were looking for tickets for one their young patients so Jayde made the decision to give her tickets to the little boy.

Jayde says that Ed’s music helped her through a very difficult time in her life when she was younger, “I was actually struggling with depression. I was unable to go to school for a while. I was kind of stuck in the house for quite a while, and I just listened to his music a lot.”

Back in 2013, Jayde drove eight hours to see Ed open for Taylor Swift.

“I just kind of forgot about everything that I was going through.  I just felt like this child could have those couple hours at the concert tonight just to forget everything and have the time of their life.”

Jayde hopes that her tickets will give joy to the little boy and also hopes that it’s a memory for both him and his mom to look back on.
