The Jewish community kicked off many Passover festivities at sunset on Monday April 10th and they will continue until April 17th.  Passover is a spring festival where Jewish families celebrate and remember the Israelites being freed from slavery in Egypt.  These celebrations include ceremonial meals such as Seders and cooking traditional food.  There is also a big focus on helping the needy with a lot of communal Seders held in Synagogues or public halls.  The first and last two days of Passover is when candles are light at night and feasts are enjoyed!  Happy Passover, or as they say in Hebrew, Pesach Sameach!
