Today’s horrific story was unavoidable.  What to say when your kids ask ‘why’.

We live in a time when a news story like the one today in Roanoke, Virginia, becomes omnipresent at lightning speed.   Thanks to the reality of the 24-hour news cycle, kids invariably are exposed to some pretty terrible sounds and images, just like those we experienced today.  What’s the best way to handle talking to your kids about tragic news stories like this?  Parents.com has some excellent advice.
