Very sad job news in Toronto…from 680 News: The Lake Shore bakery, commonly known as the Mr. Christie’s bakery, will be shut down in the third quarter of 2013.The facility, which has produced cookies and crackers since 1948, employs about 550 people. We feel for all the families who will be affected by the closing, and our noses will miss the wonderful smells of baking, and cookies, while we drive along the Gardiner!…Mr Christie, thanks for the cookies, and the memories, too..!

They are closing so that they can sell the land and build condos. They also want to get rid of union jobs and make the cookies in Mexico.Another sad day for manufacturing in Toronto.Soon the city will be filled with empty condominiums because there will be no jobs for people to afford them!
