More than 100 Maple Leaf Gardens treasures will be up for grabs during a month-long auction that begins on Thursday. Electronics tycoon Sherman Cunningham, who owns the memorabilia, has decided to sell them.
The old penalty box at Maple Leaf Gardens, the Leafs’ dressing room toilet and the door to the dressing room are among the over 100 items up for auction at the newly revamped Maple Leaf Gardens.
Among the most coveted treasure is the 1967 Stanley Cup banner, which Cunningham expects to fetch at least $200,000 for.
Bidding will continue online through Nov. 14 on the frozenpond.com and NHL.com websites.
