Toronto street food vendors will be allowed to sell more than just street meat!
City council approved a new street food policy Thursday that will allow hot dog vendors to expand their menu to include:
-Pre-packaged cut fruits and vegetables using only vinaigrette dips
-Whole fruits and vegetables including corn on the cob
-Pre-packaged fruit salad
-Bagels with individual serving containers of butter, margarine, peanut butter or jam
-Pre-packaged nuts and seeds
-Pre-packaged salads containing only vegetables and/or fruits with all dressings to be pre-packaged and not requiring refrigeration
-Pre-packaged tabbouleh salad and pita bread
-Soups
-Pre-cooked veggie burgers
-Coffees and teas
Councillors adopted amendments to several street food vending bylaws to allow vendors to expand their menu choices, pending approval by the medical officer of health.

Are you on-board for the expanded menu?

Plus still more good news for them, all the hot dog buns will be “organic” from now on (extra fifty cents for a dog though).

I’d love to be a Toronto Hot Dog Vendor
With a new “street food policy” at my feeeet
And if I were a Toronto Hot Dog Vendor
Then there’s a whole lot more that you can buy from me!
Now’s a good time to be a Toronto Hod Dog Vendor
Because now with all that I have to offer you-u-u
The prices will result in a slight increase
And I can once again here those magic words, “SCREW YOU!”
LOVE
