Would you be more likely to consent to being an organ and tissue donor if you were asked directly?
Queen’s Park thinks so, and the province will now reportedly ask you that question the next time you renew your driver’s licence.
The province wants and needs people to become organ and tissue donor, and that’s why it’s switching up tactics.
Only 21 per cent of Ontarians are registered donors, so according to the Toronto Star, they’re going to start targeting drivers directly using ServiceOntario locations.
Drivers renewing their licenses will be asked if they want to become an organ donor.
The new program will be rolled out to 95 ServiceOntario locations in 2012, and will in all 300 locations by 2013.
What a great idea! Less chance of people “putting it off” for another day, then forgetting about it!

Been a donor since I got my licence. The only thing that I don’t agree with is that family has the last say. My body, my choice!!

You should be a donor automatically!! If you don’t want to be a donor then you should register!!
