Toronto police have seized over $1 million in suspected counterfeit goods from a popular flea market. A three-month investigation resulted in raids at Dr. Flea’s on Friday and Sunday, where police hauled off clothing, toys, accessories and DVDs.
The huge cache was on display at a news conference at 23 Division on Monday.
Four people are facing copyright infringement charges and up to 12 more could be charged, police said.
The investigation involved 16 different booths at the market near Highway 27 and Albion Road.
How do you protect yourself at flea markets? Any advice for those who don’t know what to look for?

I knew someone back in Mississauga who went and bough pirated DVD’s and I remember telling him, to be careful because the cops raid those illegal markets. This is not the same flea market I’m sure, but still, ya gotta be careful right? I bought my DVD’s!
