Every week Twitter is a buzz with phrases like “got to get home in time to catch Shahs of Sunset” & “Shahs of Sunset – I’m addicted”. Well, finally Shahs of Sunset is coming to Canada! OMNI Television airs the Canadian Premiere Sunday April 8, 9PM ET.
The show has been controversial but aren’t all reality shows? Isn’t that the point?
Shahs of Sunset
The new docu-series will explore a group of young Persian-American friends who juggle living and working in Los Angeles while balancing the demands of their families and traditions. From over-the-top shopping sprees on Rodeo Drive to traditional family feasts at home, “Shahs of Sunset” celebrates the opulent lifestyle of a group of young, friends who have grown up together in Los Angeles and are now trying to balance their active social lives with their up-and-coming careers. Armed with chromed-out cars, logo-ridden purses and designer outfits, they’ve got it and they’re not afraid to flaunt it. But while these young socialites know how to spend money – they also know the value of family and tradition. It’s a part of Los Angeles culture and lifestyle that definitely has to be seen to be believed. “Shahs of Sunset” is produced by Ryan Seacrest Productions with Ryan Seacrest serving as executive producer on the series.

I wonder how many people will be offended by this show because of the “nature” of the show; hell it’s about family isn’t i? I’m not crazy about reality shows myself, but I guess we should give it a chance and see how it goes!

I think these shows are like the old zoos with cages, people just like to walk around peek in the cages and see what the monkies are doing. Or the old carnival freak show, the unusual just has a certain appeal.
