Haven\’t seen any of the \”Scream\” movies yet, but I like the \”spine tingling, creepy ones that thrill and chill\” like \”Secret Window\”, \”When Stranger\’s Call \’ (both versions were pretty good). \”Willard\” was creepy (the one about the rat). Amityville Horror (I remember seeing the original 78 version when it first came out and is better then the 05 version). I\’ve seen \”The Exorcist\”, \”The Omen\” and \”Rosemary\’s Baby\” and they\’re okay. I liked \”The Exorcist\” the best in terms of \”impact\” the horror had on me. I think people can lighten up about those types of movies in my opinion.
There are many horror movies that don\’t even make me flinch because I still think the older one\’s are better made and give you more scares for the buck with the storyline. Today\’s movies they use alot of \”music\” and FX to create the suspense. Hitchcock does a good job though with movies like Psycho and The Birds (those are good).
I think one of the worst horror movies I saw recently (a couple years) was \”Cabin Fever\” (fiona recommended that one to me, bless her heart, but I told her I didn\’t like it; I thought it was cheaply made and wasn\’t scary enough, but can\’t like everything each other watches I guess. She liked \”Twilight\” and I didn\’t , but we both loved \”Parenthood\” (Steve Martin) and \”Shall We Dance\” with Richard Gere (great date movie, but not a horror!)
