Every day is dress up day for Lady Gaga, so it must be difficult for her to up the game for real red letter moments.

Today is one such momentous occasion, as the 25-year-old has been posing for a shoot with iconic photographer Annie Leibowitz in New York.

Quite literally, as it happens, when she fell off the stilts that had replaced the vertiginous shoes she dons for everyday use.

However, she looked incredible in a gold outfit that bonded the two worlds of ancient Egypt and Regency France.
