Well this is news worthy n sad. But Really??? we still have transit and other options to commute… What about the news of over half a million starving – they don’t have a back up plan. Worst the World Food Program will run out of food in 3wks – Anderson Cooper 360.
Just $1 USD will feed 4 or provide 4 meals – is it so hard to give or have we become such a selfish society? The Drought was not man made – but the famine is… Sad n Shame on society…

Or while the weather is wtill good, how about using the old dogs that God gave you and walk the extra half mile or so that you have to walk. If you have a bike lane, use that ! \’ve done alot of walking myself and although tiring at times,, physically I feel very fit (remember Participaction?).
Of course, if all else fails, you can always travel by pogo stick if you have the hop-to-i tive-ness to do so. I also agree with Mr. Sluytman-Murray; once in a while if you can\’t get gas, why not dig deep and give to a cause like the one above (or \”Sick Children\’s Hosptial); it will make you feel better.
I\’ve donated to causes such as these (Sick Kids and Tim Horton\’s Kids for Camp as being two of my favourites for obvious reasons). So if you can, dig deep once in a while.

I disagree with Mich Van Sluytman-Murray. This is news worthy especially since the oil companies are reaping the rewards (PROFITS) and this is what we get – a gas shortage!! Absolutely RIDICULOUS!! The baloney the oil companies are feeding us about having to do maintenance and thus the shortage!! Why aren’t there more refineries so that we do NOT experience these shortages? When one goes down, then supply is still there. Very sad indeed when they are making BILLIONS!!
Now about the hungry. Please don’t get me wrong, I agree with you 100% We WASTE so much food here in North America, it is sinful!! But, on the other hand, why don’t the world leaders do something about the loser(s) who are running those countries? Why are they still in charge? Where is ALL the aid (money) going? These guys are dictators and should not be allowed to stay in power. But, alas, there is no profit in helping a nation(s) that don’t have oil or something that the West or Civilized countries value. So, we are back to plain working people having to help these poor souls. Truly SAD!!
