It doesn’t jump out and grab me….maybe I need to look at it for a while longer….
The Winnipeg Jets have opted for a sleek fighter jet as the centerpiece of their new logo.
The design has the jet pointed north over a red Maple Leaf in a blue and grey circle.
The Jets say the new logo, developed in partnership with Reebok and the NHL, was inspired by the logo of the Royal Canadian Air Force.
The franchise confirmed at last month’s NHL draft that it would be using the Jets nickname.
But the team did not show its hand on the logo, giving top draft pick Mark Scheifele of the Barrie Colts a generic NHL jersey.
The team played as the Atlanta Thrashers last season before it was purchased by True North Sports & Entertainment.
The old Jets logo had a stylized hockey stick as the “J” in Jets with a small plane to the side of the team name.
The original Jets franchise moved to Phoenix to become the Coyotes after the 1996 season.

I like the connection to the RCAF (Winnipeg is also home to the modern day Canadian Air Force’s headquarters). Now, if I can only figure out the stupid “Captcha” code … grrr …

It’s a great Emblem, but looks more like a CF-18 Squadron logo than a hockey team to me… perhaps if they included the name “Winnipeg” in gold lettering within the blue band along the lower part of the crest ?
Now I think that would be awsome and make the point clear as to what the crest is trying to say ?
Whaddya think of that ??

I like the logo look and the idea of adding the name Winnipeg to the logo (it would giv e it a more classy look). Still, GO LEAFS GO!
