The OPP will begin another crackdown on distracted drivers on Monday..!

If you constantly like to flip the dial or eat burgers behind the wheel, the OPP will be looking for you!

In addition to looking out for those using handheld devices while driving, a crackdown on distracted drivers will now include those who become distracted while adjusting the radio, eating, or searching for something in their vehicle.

Forms of distracted driving can result in a charge of Careless Driving, which carries fines ranging from $400 to $2,000, a possible license suspension of up to two years, or even a jail term of up to six months.

In 2010, the CAA ranked the ‘distracted driver’ as its number one concern on the roads.

The second leg of the OPP’s four-week safety blitz begins on Monday.

Do you think all these ‘blitzes’ are having the desired effect?  Are you seeing less distracted drivers these days?
